About Nick

I am a local journalist and managing editor for My Neighborhood News Group in Edmonds, Washington, currently covering what’s happening in the City of Mountlake Terrace.

I’m also an editor with Massage & Fitness Journal, an online publication that covers research in manual therapy and exercise and its application in practice.

I was also published in Massage New Zealand, Guardian Liberty Voice, MiaBella Magazine, The Telescope, and Scripps Ranch News. In 2021-23, I was the graphic designer for Palomar College’s IMPACT Magazine.

Before switching to journalism during the COVID-19 pandemic, I was a certified massage therapist and personal trainer in San Diego, California. See my LinkedIn profile for details.

I was born in Hong Kong, grew up in Macau until age 6 when my family immigrated to the U.S. San Diego and SoCal was my home until one day in early 2021, I decided to take a chance in Washington state. So, I stuffed all that I owned in my car and drove north for four days, not knowing what will happen once I arrive in Seattle. After living in various cities in north Seattle area and south Snohomish County, I now call Lake Forest Park home since April 2025.

In my spare time, I enjoy biking near Lake Washington, explore the islands along Puget Sound, listen to lofi, classical guitar, and Latin instrumentals, particularly salsa and bachata, and trying to live the life of a hobbit.
